Dance, Romance, Explore: Spring ’17 Concert

Newton Senior Center Chamber Ensemble’s (NSCCE)- Spring Concert and Brunch:

– A Program of New Music and Old Favorites.


A Little Taste of Tuscany by Bill Boston will have its Boston-area debut. It was composed in 2012 for this orchestra. Also featured will be Romanza by Joseph Leonard, written 55 years ago to celebrate the wedding of NSCCE cellist Eleanor Rubin and her husband, David. A movement from Antonin Dvorak’s festive Czech Suite and selections from The Gordian Knot Untied-, round out the surprising and delightful program. The concert will be a highlight of Gwendoline Thornblade’s 14th year conducting the NSCCE, a group of dedicated amateur musicians ages 50-85 years old.
